Junior Division Prize List for Exhibition Hall

Exhibitors in Junior Classes Sections 214 to 252 inclusive, are not required to be members of the Agricultural Society and NO entry fee will be deducted.
If exhibiting in other classes, a membership is required. ENTRY FORMS WITH YOUR AGE AND ADDRESS MUST BE COMPLETED - so that your prize money can be delivered.
Children may only enter in the class designated for their own age group. (Age is determined as of the Wednesday of the fair.)
All items that are entered in the fair, require a fair entry tag to be affixed to that item. These tags may be picked up at the Fair Office the week of the fair. Also, all items need to be listed on an entry form, located in the centre of this book.
Special Prize: For the most points in each junior class, $4 donated by Valerie Allen
For the runner up in each junior class, $2 donated by Valerie Allen.

CLASS - 4 Years Old
Prize Money - $3, $2.50, $2.00, $1.50
214. Colour any picture from a colouring book.
215. Print your first name on unlined paper, 5 ½” x 8 ½”
216. Draw a picture of yourself, playing outside, on 8 ½ " x 11" paper
217. Create a design using cereal, glued to a paper plate
CLASS - 5 Years Old
Prize Money - $3, $2.50, $2.00, $1.50

218. Handprint wreath – use paint and make a wreath of child’s handprint on 8 ½” x 11” paper.
219. Print your numbers 1 through 10 on an 8 ½” x 11” paper
220. Draw a picture of your family, enjoying an activity outdoors, on 8 ½” x 11” paper
221. “Sea  Creature” – using ½ paper plate, attach streamers and other details to make octopus, jelly fish 

CLASS - 6/7 Years Old
Prize Money - $3, $2.50, $2.00, $1.50

222. Create a fireworks scene using dark paper and glitter (8 ½” x 11”)
223. Create animal or bug from one or more styrafoam cups and decorate
224. Make a colourful flow from handprint cutouts glued on a paper plate.
225. Decorate  a clothespin to look like a butterfly
CLASS - 8/9 Years Old
Prize Money - $4, $3.50, $3, $2

226. ”Litter Bug” – make a bug out of recycled items.  
227. Magic Maple Leaf – use crayons and pastels to create a picture by rubbing a maple leaf (8 ½” x 11).
228. an ocean scene.
229. Paint a stone to make a patriotic symbol of Canada.
230. Make a fire truck from Graham crackers and treats.
CLASS - 10 /11 Years Old
Prize Money - $4, $3.50, $3, $2
231. Make an “ear of corn” place cards, 3, using paper and unpopped popcorn.
232.  Create a doorknob sign for your room
233. Switchplate.  Make a cool decorative plate for the light switch in your room.  
234. Use five popsicle sticks, tied together, to make a snowman fence, decorated with hats, scarves etc.  
235. Make an invitation to a Summer party, being held at your house. (not computer generated)
CLASS - 12 to 15 Years Old
Prize Money - $4, $3.50, $3, $2

236. Decorate a picture frame with souvenirs of a vacation (maps, trinkets, etc) and include a photo in the frame.  
237. Decorate a plain gift bag on a birthday theme, with a gift tag to match.
338. No Bake Squares, 5, displayed on paper plate and placed in a zip-lock bag
239. Make a magnetic pen holder for inside of a school locker.
240. Any hand-crafted piece of jewellery

CLASS - All ages to 18
Prize Money - $5, $4, $3, $2

241. Design a poster against Drunk Driving, Smoking or Drugs on 8 1/2” x 11”
242. Create your own memory box and decorate.
243. Handcrafted jewellery, displayed on cardboard.
244. On a heart-shaped paper, mount photos of your friends. Include captions and embellishments. Not larger than 14” x 36”
245. Create a Christmas ornament
246. Chocolate chip cookies, 5, on a plate in a ziplock bag
247. PENMANSHIP—using ink write the following:
“Five Friendly Farmers”
Five friendly farmers, Wake up with the sun,
For it is early morning, And the chores must be done.
The first friendly farmer, Goes to milk the cow.
The second friendly farmer, Thought he’d better plow.
The third friendly farmer, Feeds the hungry hens.
The fourth friendly farmer, Put the piggies in their pen.
The fifth friendly farmer, Picks the ripe corn.
And waves to the neighbor, When he blows his horn.
When the work is finished, And the evening sky is red
